Initial Setup
Before running your first campaign, complete these three setup steps in the Settings tab.
Configure your AI Provider
Wingmano uses AI to generate personalized connection notes and follow-up messages. Choose your preferred provider and enter your API key.
Supported providers:
- 1Go to the Settings tab in the side panel.
- 2Select your provider from the dropdown.
- 3Paste your API key in the field below. The key is stored encrypted in your browser — it never leaves your device.
- 4Select the model you want to use (e.g. gpt-4o, claude-sonnet-4-5).
Set up your Sender Profile
Your sender profile tells the AI who you are, so it can write messages in your voice and with your context.
- 1In Settings, find the Sender Profile section.
- 2Fill in your name, role, company, and a brief description of what you do and why you reach out to people.
- 3The more detail you provide, the more personalized the AI-generated messages will be.
Configure Safety Limits
These limits protect your LinkedIn account from being flagged for unusual activity.
| Limit | Default | Recommended max |
|---|---|---|
| Daily connection requests | 20 | 20–25 |
| Weekly connection requests | 100 | 100 |
| Daily profile visits | 50 | 80 |
| Working hours | 9:00–18:00 | Your business hours |
Extracting Leads
A Lead Pool is a collection of LinkedIn profiles you want to reach out to. You create pools by extracting profiles directly from LinkedIn search results.
From LinkedIn Sales Navigator
Sales Navigator offers the most powerful filtering (industry, company size, seniority, geography, etc.) and is the recommended source for lead extraction.
- 1Go to LinkedIn Sales Navigator and run a people search with your desired filters.
- 2Open the Wingmano side panel and go to the Pools tab.
- 3Click "New Pool", give it a descriptive name (e.g. "Real Estate Agents - Milan"), and click Start Extraction.
- 4Wingmano will automatically paginate through the search results and collect all profiles. A progress counter shows how many leads have been found.
- 5Click "Stop" at any time, or let it run until all pages are processed. The pool status will change to "Ready" when complete.
From LinkedIn Standard Search
If you don't have a Sales Navigator subscription, you can extract leads from LinkedIn's standard People search.
- 1Go to LinkedIn → Search → People and apply your filters.
- 2Open the Wingmano side panel → Pools tab → New Pool → Start Extraction.
- 3The process works the same as Sales Navigator, but with fewer filtering options.
Building a Workflow
A Workflow is the sequence of actions Wingmano will perform on each lead. You define it once and reuse it across multiple campaigns.
- 1Go to the Workflows tab and click "New Workflow".
- 2Give the workflow a name (e.g. "Connect + Follow-up").
- 3Add steps one by one using the step builder. Each step runs in order for every lead.
- 4Click Save when done.
Available Steps
The AI analyzes the lead's profile and scores their relevance based on your criteria. Leads below the threshold are skipped automatically.
Visits the lead's LinkedIn profile. This is a natural human-like signal before sending a connection request. Recommended as a first step.
The AI writes a personalized connection note based on the lead's profile and your sender profile. The message goes to the Approval Queue before being sent.
Sends a connection request to the lead, optionally with the AI-generated note from the previous step.
Pauses the workflow for a set number of days and checks whether the lead has accepted the connection request. If not accepted after the wait period, the lead is marked accordingly.
Once connected, the AI generates a personalized follow-up message. It is shown in the Approval Queue for your review before sending.
Sends the approved follow-up message via LinkedIn Messaging.
Running a Campaign
A Campaign connects a Lead Pool with a Workflow and executes it automatically.
- 1Go to the Campaigns tab and click "New Campaign".
- 2Give it a name and select the Lead Pool you want to use.
- 3Select the Workflow to apply.
- 4Set the daily limit for this campaign (how many leads to process per day).
- 5Click "Start Campaign". Wingmano will begin processing leads according to your workflow and daily limit.
Campaign States
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active | Campaign is running and processing leads |
| Paused | Manually paused — resumes when you click Resume |
| Daily limit reached | Today's limit hit — automatically resumes tomorrow |
| Completed | All leads in the pool have been processed |
Approval Queue
Before any AI-generated message is sent, it lands in the Approval Queue for your review. This is one of Wingmano's key safety features — nothing is sent without your explicit approval.
- 1Open the Campaigns tab and look for the Approval Queue section, or check the notification badge on the tab.
- 2For each pending message, you'll see the lead's name, profile context, and the AI-generated text.
- 3Edit the message if needed — you can freely modify the AI-generated text before sending.
- 4Click "Approve" to queue the message for sending, or "Reject" to skip this lead.
Monitoring Progress
Track the status of every lead directly in the Campaigns tab. Each lead shows its current stage in the workflow.
| Lead Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Queued, not yet started |
| In Progress | Currently being processed in the workflow |
| Awaiting Approval | AI message generated, waiting for your review |
| Connected | Connection request accepted |
| Messaged | Follow-up message sent |
| Completed | All workflow steps finished |
| Error | A step failed — hover for details |
| Skipped | Lead was rejected by AI qualification or approval queue |
Safety Guidelines
Wingmano is designed to operate safely, but following these guidelines will further protect your LinkedIn account.
Connection Request Limits
- Stay at or below 20 connection requests per day
- Never exceed 100 per week
- If your account is new or inactive, start at 5–10/day for the first two weeks
Keep Chrome Open
The extension needs Chrome to be running to execute workflows. You don't need to actively use the browser — it can run in the background while you work on other things.
Use Working Hours
Configure working hours in Settings so Wingmano only runs during business hours in your time zone. LinkedIn activity at 3am looks suspicious.
Don't Run Multiple Campaigns Simultaneously
If you run two campaigns at once, their daily limits stack. Always make sure the combined total stays within your configured limits.
Personalize Your Messages
Generic messages get lower acceptance rates and may be reported as spam. Always review AI-generated messages and add personal touches where possible.
